How many sessions of Zerona will I have?

Zerona is six sessions of 40 minutes every other day. You must be committed to coming every other day for two weeks. Clients need to schedule the sessions without interruption so as to receive optimum benefits and inch loss. Optionally, clients may wish to schedule nine or twelve sessions altogether. The protocal is the same - every other day for three or four weeks.

Do I have to diet, or take any medication?

If you already eat a healthy diet, exercise, and drink plenty of water, then no special diet changes or restrictions are needed. During treatment, we have found avoiding so-called "white" foods (breads, pastas, potatoes) and processed foods, as well as limiting caffeine and alcohol while being treated, are simple and effective ways to aid your body in flushing out the fat you'll lose. This helps your body to burn that newly released, excess fat for energy first, rather than depending on carbohydrates and sugars.

Clients have the option of taking CURVA™, a dietary supplement that is a scientifically proven and has been formulated to help the body's natural detoxification process. While CURVA is not necessary for Zerona success, it has been proven to enhance Zerona results by aiding in the removal of fatty debris. Safe and clinically tested, CURVA should be taken daily during the Zerona treatment process. Read more about CURVA here.

Is SmoothShapes safe?

frequently asked questions about smoothshapes

Yes. SmoothShapes is FDA-approved for the treatment of cellulite, but the effective results - as with all cellulite treatments - are purely temporary.

What parts of my body can benefit from SmoothShapes?

SmoothShapes can be used anywhere on the body, although it is most frequently used to treat cellulite on the hips, buttocks, stomach, and thighs.

Rollers and vacuums; does SmoothShapes treatment hurt?

SmoothShapes is completely non-invasive, there are no injections or incisions involved. During the procedure, you'll experience some heat on your body and the massaging pressure of the SmoothShapes tool. Most clients liken this sensation to a deep tissue massage, with the same physical soreness following afterward. Clients can resume a normal level of activity immediately after each treatment.

How long is each SmoothShapes session, and how many will I need?

Each SmoothShapes session takes 20 minutes in duration per target area. The average person needs 8 treatments per target area, twice a week. So for example, if you're targeting your thighs and stomach, that would be two target areas (40 minutes), twice per week, for eight weeks. We can give you a better idea at your free initial consultation as to the length of your treatment sessions and their duration.

Does Endermologie replace diet and exercise?

Endermologie is a specific type of exercise for your connective tissue. Endermologie efficiently treats target areas that are generally unaffected by diet or conventional exercise. That said, incorporating a balanced diet and regular exercise into a course of Endermologie treatments will achieve even greater results. Endermologie is great for treating cellulite, but alone, it will not make you lose weight.

What does an Endermologie treatment feel like?

Endermologie is a gentle, relaxing treatment that provides a general sense of wellbeing and revitalisation. It is a non-invasive treatment that involves no medical procedures or use of any chemical substances, creams or gels. An ultra-thin, nylon-blend body suit is worn during the treatment to both reduce friction for the instrument and protect the skin from any potential pinching.

frequently asked questions about endermologie

How long is each Endermologie session, and how many will I need?

Each Endermologie treatment is a 35 minute full body treatment, with the majority of that time concentrating on target areas. Endermologie treatments should be performed two to three times per week until the desired result is achieved, and treatments should be spaced evenly apart over the entire number of treatments required.

Most women notice initial changes in the fluid retention and skin appearance within 7 - 10 treatments, however, to smooth out the dimpled effect of cellulite, more treatments will be needed. The average woman will need 15 to 25 treatments to achieve optimal results. We suggest you will see improvements between one to three courses of treatment (1 course being 16 treatments), depending upon your age, lifestyle and hormonal status - all of which will determine the speed of your results. Once a month or more follow-up treatments are usually recommended to maintain results. Endermologie is excellent for detoxing the body and increasing circulation for a healthy lifestyle and because of increased metabolism it aids in dieting and inch loss much faster.

Can Endermologie be applied as a facial treatment?

Yes! Endermologie is also used as a facial treatment. Cavitation Ultrasound is ideal for people who are dissatisfied with a certain areas of fatty deposits but do not want to undergo any invasive surgical treatment like liposuction. The treatment does not necessarily result in overall weight loss, but can improve shape, contour and size reduction in the treatment area. Clients currently following a healthy diet or a good weight loss plan will likely see more significant results, and weight loss will more likely occur.

No, most clients consider the procedure painless and comfortable. During the treatment you will feel a soothing heat in the targeted area. The heat generated is perfectly tolerable. A little "blushing" or reddening may occasionally appear but it does not cause pain. The treatment can be compared to the feeling of finishing an intense workout. There may be a slight auditory discomfort due to the specific low frequency ultrasound noise experienced, but it poses no harm and disappears as soon as you are not in contact with the transducer.

How many sessions of Cavitation Ultrasound are needed?

This depends on body mass and circumference size, age, hormonal balance, medications and your individual desired goals, but generally between six and 12 sessions may be required.

How much discomfort should be expected when having a peel?

The level of discomfort experienced depends on the treatment. Most of our chemical peels are gentle and create little or no burning or stinging sensation in the skin. Dramatic wrinkling, sun damage or acne scars may require a deeper peel, which may cause moderate stinging for a few minutes. More dramatic results can be expected from a deeper peel, however deep peels are not necessary for most skin types and conditions. Our philosophy of taking a low-dose approach means our superficial chemical peels create minimal discomfort and produce beautiful and immediate results for most clients.

Can people who are frequently in the sun receive peels?

Yes, but only if they are compliant with using sunscreen protection every day. Sun should be avoided directly following a treatment and while the skin is peeling. If you are receiving peel treatments to reduce skin discoloration (hyperpigmentation), it is imperative to use the appropriate skin-brightening products prescribed by your skin care professional, as well as broad-spectrum sun protection daily, to reduce the chance of further hyperpigmentation.

frequently asked questions about peels

Which peels may be used on someone who exercises frequently?

Someone who is active may have any peel, but all peel clients must wait 48 hours after a treatment to exercise. If this is not an option, the Non-Burning Facial Peel or Intensive Vitamin C Treatment are alternate choices. These treatments use our Ultra Peel® II Exfoliating Treatment which is an acid-free retinol cream. Its delayed flaking action will not cause irritation or downtime, and leaves the skin glowing and hydrated.

Will a chemical peel make thin skin even thinner?

Dry skin is partially the result of dead cell buildup, which actually hinders natural exfoliation as well as the absorption and penetration of vitamins and nutrients. Having a professional chemical peel will remove surface buildup, hydrate the skin and give it a plumper, "thicker" appearance. The use of topical vitamin C and peptide products in a treatment, as well as in your daily care regimen will help build collagen in the skin, thus making it stronger and more durable.

Are there any treatments that are good for rosacea?

We offer many options to help control rosacea. Our gentle TCA and lactic acid blends are wonderful choices for rosacea. These all fight bacteria, reduce inflammation and help promote healthy skin. Rosacea is best controlled with a combination of in-office treatments, daily care products, and lifestyle considerations. Heat is an enemy of rosacea - so stay cool!
